All Upcoming Classes

Classes take place at A Dog’s Life’s Learning & Enrichment Center - 455 Lake Michigan Dr NW Suite 15, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.

Classes meet for 4 weeks and cost $129 unless otherwise specified. Rolling Enrollment classes (RE) will have overlapping start and end dates to provide added socialization and distractions.

We require the following vaccines: Distemper/Parvo (2nd round for puppies), Bordetella, Rabies (for dogs over 4 months), and a Negative Fecal Exam. Fecal exams can take a few days to process, so please plan accordingly.

Puppy Social Enrichment

Parallel play is a dynamic teaching tool for puppies up to 5 months old. It allows for observational learning, confidence building, and teamwork while also providing a foundation for stable social skills. These sessions provide novel experiences involving all senses in a group environment. Cost is $20 for current class members and $25 for non-class members.


Puppy FUNdamentals

For puppies up to 5 months old, this course will focus on building a solid learning foundation by teaching core skills such as Leave-It, Stay, Recall, and Place. We will also practice important social skills by allowing the puppies to interact and play while supervised.


Youth Next Level FUNdamentals

For puppies up to 8 months old that already have foundation skills and need more social and environmental practice for proofing. We will play games that simulate real-life situations and focus on working amidst distractions.


Adolescent Social Enrichment

Parallel play is a dynamic teaching tool for young dogs 6-18 months old. It allows for observational learning, confidence building, and teamwork while also providing a foundation for stable social skills. These sessions provide novel experiences involving all senses in a group environment. Cost is $20 for current class members and $25 for non class members


Adolescent & Adult (A&A) FUNdamentals

For dogs over 5 months old, this course will focus on building a solid learning foundation while exploring and and interacting with new, fun activities in a safe environment. We will also work on skills like leave-it, stay, recall, and loose leash walking. 


Semi-Private A&A FUNdamentals

Like our Adolescent & Adult FUNdamentals class, except there will be only 2 dogs in the class! This will allow for plenty of individual focus on each dog while we practice calm sits and downs, loose leash walking, coming when called, stay, and leave-it. Cost is $149


Turbulent Tweens

Does your dog get a little too excited when meeting new people or dogs? Is leash walking a struggle because everything it just SO interesting? Adolescence can be a very exciting and distracting time for dogs, and a difficult time for owners. This 6 week class is specifically designed to help you navigate this stage with learning games and management strategies for impulse control, calm behavior, and focus amidst distractions, and to help you gain a better understanding of this magical phase! Cost is $189


A&A Next Level FUNdamentals

For dogs over 8 months old that already have foundation skills and need more social and environmental practice. Using games and real life elements this class will help you better navigate while strengthening your working bond!


Therapy Certification Class

This 6 week course will meet in a new location each week to practice your skills in real-life scenarios and with real-life distractions. The final week will include the evaluation to become a certified therapy dog team. Cost is $199

Dogs entering class must have taken a Pre-Therapy Training Class, passed a Canine Good Citizen test, or received instructor approval.

Tricks & Treats!

Join us for some Wednesday-themed, spooky fun with your dog and show off their tricks to earn some treats! Tricks may include “normie” skills like Sit and Down, or more “outcast” things like Shake and Spin! There will also be competitions for best dog costume, best team costume (human and dog or multiple dogs), and best trick! Cost is $15 per dog.

Costumes are optional, but who doesn’t love a dressed up dog?

Noodlers!

If unicorns invented a dog sport it would likely be called Eye Candy Agility. Since the Unicorn Union won’t let us steal that, we’re calling it Noodlers. A lighthearted, action packed magical game of obstacles and color. This class is an excellent way to exercise both your dog’s body and mind, and will help build confidence and focus while deepening the relationship between you and your dog. And the best part is, it’s all made of noodles!


Beginner Parkour

Parkour, also known as urban agility, invites dogs and their people to find joy in interacting with a wide variety of natural and man-made obstacles. We’ll have fun teaching our dogs to explore the world by climbing, balancing, crawling and jumping as they navigate their way through the environment. Cost is $99 for 3 weeks
